I am an avid competitor in Speech and Debate. I am the Head Captain of the Humorous Interpretation and Duo Interpretation at Arizona College Preparatory High School.

Humorous Interp

I have been competing in speech and debate since 9th grade and am now the head captain of my Interp team. I’ve consistently placed within the top 6 in my event at tournaments, and have won multiple state finalist trophies, including one state championship trophy. I am also ranked #1 in Arizona.

Throughout this journey, I’ve amassed a great deal of knowledge and skills that I apply to real situations daily. I’ve learned how to clearly and effectively get a point across when speaking, I’ve learned critical thinking and argumentation skills, proper research methods, charisma, and much more. These skills are useful in the real world, whether that means working in a team, fact checking any research, or just networking.

Head Captain

I am the Head Captain of the Humorous Interpretation team at Arizona College Preparatory High School. I have placed in many tournaments, winning second place in the 2024 state championship for Humorous Interpretation and placing third in Duo Interpretation. Toro is the first tournament I competed in 2025, and I won first place in HI. I am also an avid competitor in the Big Questions Debate.

I’ve collected a fair amount of trophies throughout my speech and debate career, but the most important trophy of all was discovering my passion for learning and teaching, and all the knowledge and skills I’ve built along the way.
