Robotics
Passion, STEM Education, and Leadership
I have been involved in Robotics since 2019 and have a real interest in STEM and Engineering. In 2021, My Vex Robotics team won the 2021 Vex IQ World Championship and took the Excellence Award in our division and won the Design award in 2022 Vex IQ World Championship. I have since started an Overdrive Robotics Non-profit organization, a 501(c)(3) org, Robotics and STEM summer camps, and coached Vex at Knox Gifted Academy and Robotics Edge while continuing to compete in Vex myself.
Vex World Championship
My journey with Vex Robotics has been a long, arduous, and rewarding one. It started in fifth grade, when my parents told me to check out “this cool robotics thing”. I observed one of Adarsha STEM Academy’s practices and immediately loved the atmosphere of teamwork, problem-solving and creativity. I joined the following week, and throughout the year I built a stronger foundation of knowledge and skills that would result in me leading my team to Vex Worlds. One year later, I wanted to delve even deeper into the world of robotics, so I started my own Vex team with my friends. One year after that, my new team would win Vex IQ Worlds! I still compete in Vex to this day, and have qualified to worlds every year since. Along with the technical skills and knowledge associated with robotics, Vex has taught me crucial life skills, like how to work in a team, how to communicate and problem solve effectively, and how to lead people.
